The connection we made
The seam is allowed to remain. Repair becomes a relationship with what already exists, and the table has room for it again.
An artistic connection, not a proven shared cause. Sources may disagree, and the work keeps their limits visible.

An e-reader repair worked, but the explanation was not completely settled
Bryan O’Sullivan wrote about tracking down stripes on his e-reader’s display. He used test patterns and repeated measurements to distinguish possible faults, rather than treating the first plausible explanation as the answer.
The device was repaired, but the underlying mechanism behind the stripes was not fully resolved. This is one person’s repair account. The work borrows its patience with diagnosis; the source is not about repairing ceramics.
Why it belongs here
Interpretation: Animate diagnosis, partial progress and re-testing before the bowl returns to the table; keep the seam as a record.
What it does not establish
One device and author account; no claim that one AI fixed everything. Ceramic repair remains an analogy.

A consumer study asks whether easier repair is also affordable
European consumer organisation BEUC reported on a market study of repair conditions for consumer products, including smartphones. It described differences in access to parts and repair instructions, while pointing out that prices could still prevent people from choosing repair.
We read the organisation’s press release, not the full underlying study. The distinction matters to the artwork: making a repair technically possible does not remove the money, time and access needed to get it done.
Why it belongs here
Interpretation: Add a visible waiting/cost condition before reunion, so repair is not portrayed as effortless personal virtue.
What it does not establish
Follow-up primary source found September 16 from a September 14 news lead. Survey scope is six countries and two product categories. Avoid disputed battery-price ratio.

A software-repair paper keeps the reasoning alongside the fix
The authors of THEMIS describe a workflow that retains the reasons for a software repair, the code changes and the review after those changes. Their abstract presents the comparison results as preliminary evidence about the workflow.
We read the abstract and version history, not the full paper. In the artwork, this becomes an analogy: a repaired seam might carry a memory of what failed and what was tried, rather than pretending nothing happened.
Why it belongs here
Interpretation: Let each seam reveal a small repair log: fault, attempted fix, result. This gives the visible seam informational purpose.
What it does not establish
Software-to-ceramic transfer is an explicit metaphor. Abstract does not isolate graph causality. This record was recovered September 16, after original works formed.
